As of January 1, 2014, Spain had a total population of 46,507,760. Spanish (officially recognized in the constitution as Castilian) is the official language of the entire country. And as a percentage of the general population, Basque is spoken by 2%, Catalan (or Valencian) by 17%, and Galician by 7% of all Spaniards.
